Women are incredible beings! Around the world, women continue with much vigor to contribute to the social, economic, cultural and political achievements. More than in any field, the feminine flair has dominated the fashion industry with a manifold of fashion icons: trendsetters who have blown away the minds with their remarkable style.
On this note, I wish every lady out there a Happy Women’s day and let’s keep on rocking the world by inspiring each other to reach out our craziest dreams. A big salute to all my fellow fashion bloggers who are always there commenting and motivating one another in the blogosphere. I love how we form a community striving hard and at the same time living our passions fully without failing to empower one another.
On the occasion of Women’s day, I could not think of any better blog post than writing about my preferred style icons who have been inspiring me in doing what I love. The iconic style figures such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor belong to the list but I’ve also selected some of my favorite modern style icons who constantly stand out in their outstanding panache.
- Audrey Hepburn
The British actress is famous for her classic and chic style. Women look up to her and many have their wardrobes modeled after her. She earned a well-deserved place in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1961 and her elegant and refines features have won her a spot in various lists of the most beautiful women in the 20th century.
- Coco Chanel
There is no one who revolutionized women’s fashion in the early 20th century as much as Coco Chanel did. It all started when she introduced a looser and more comfortable silhouette that liberated women from the corsets and frills that once dominated the apparel industry. She created fashion staples such as the Chanel tweed blazer and skirt, two-tined ballet flat, little black dress and the quilted bag with chain strap.
- Iris Apfel
At 94 years old, Iris Apfel is still a true style icon. She is known to be aging gracefully and we cannot deny that! In 2005, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City premiered an exhibition about her titled Rara Avis (Rare bird): The irreverent Iris Apfel. Since then, her popularity reached out around the world, being featured in prestigious publications such as Vogue, Paper Magazine and New York Times. She has been involved in several projects despite her age, consulting and lecturing on style and fashion topics at the University of Texas as a Professor including her Mac Cosmetics line and her works for Eye-bobs.
- Anna Dello Russo
Editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan, she is one of the most recognizable fashion personalities within the industry. Her daring street style looks have made her a fashion celebrity. She is seen at fashion weeks in striking outfits, which fit her personality perfectly. Her fashion and lifestyle blog has also contributed to her rising popularity.
- Amal Clooney
Though she might not be fully into the fashion industry, her style is most amazing. Besides being a successful human rights lawyer, her fashion sense never fails to impress on every appearances she makes. From chic street style looks to the classiest looks on the red carpet with George Clooney, Amal proved to be a style icon, providing elegant outfit inspirations to every woman.
- Kendall Jenner
Since Kendall Jenner has been taking over the fashion world as a top model for high-end brands, her approach to dressing has certainly matured. Her sartorial choices have been impressive and continue to be so, though she is facing a lot of criticisms. Apart from her numerous chic outfits, she has also captivated the eyes with her statement accessories. She has made us enviable of her shoes and clutches!
