5 Natural ways to ensure you get your beauty sleep

If like me, sleeping matters a lot to you (my friends can confirm how much I like that) and you don’t want to let anything come between you and your beauty sleep, I’ve got some amazing tips to help you do that. The term ‘beauty sleep’ is very significant as sleeping is absolutely essential to beautiful skin and hair.

While you are asleep, it gives your skin time to renew, grow new cells and repair itself. This is the reason why it is important to apply a night cream before you hit the bed (of course removing all your make up is a must). I hate those days when I struggle to find my sleep which eventually results into waking up like a zombie the next morning. But I’m done with these kind of days as I know what gets me sleeping like a baby and nope it’s definitely not sleeping pills. Here are the five natural ways to get better sleep:

  1. Chamomile tea

This one really works guys! Chamomile tea is known to effectively treat anxiety, insomnia and stress, helping you to ease your way into sleep. If you feel that you are in need of some peace of mind to be able to fall asleep, chamomile tea is what you have to drink before getting into bed. It will help you feel more relaxed and take your mind off the hustle and bustle of work/school.


  1. Fish oil

Yes fish oil! Rich in omega 3, it gives your body the essential fatty acids to promote rest and keep your brain sharp throughout the day. You can consider taking supplements for that. I usually do! Besides, proper intake of omega 3 will help you get glowing skin.


  1. Magnesium

Feeling tired after a long day at work? Try taking magnesium! It is an anti-stress mineral that helps you relax and helps to promote sleep. If you don’t want to take it as supplements, you can always eat magnesium rich food like dark leafy greens, seaweeds and nuts. This will surely get you the right sleep cycle!


  1. A nice warm bath

 A warm bath before going to bed can be very relaxing. Well, I’m really addicted to this one, I can never sleep unless I’ve had a shower with my favorite fruity shower gel or the vanilla one. It definitely gets me closer to zz’s and I love that. Besides, I love to smell good when I’m about to hit the bed. It is also the time when I apply my night cream. Then, I’m off to my favorite spot: my bed!


  1. Deep breathing

Practicing some deep breathing can help you change your thoughts before sleeping. It can also help to shut out the world around you (I’m talking about the internet, Instagram, facebook…). So instead of grabbing your phone and scrolling through your facebook feed while on bed, sit up and breathe in and out through your nose, making your exhales a bit longer than your inhales. You will see how relaxed you will feel after that!
